Welcome to Saysutshun, the Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Park. Known as Saysutshun by the Snuneymuxw (pronounced Snuh-NAY-mow) First Nation people, this family friendly park is accessible only by foot passenger ferry or boat. With breathtaking views of the Coastal Mountains and the Harbour City of Nanaimo, the island offers a unique natural, historical and cultural experience for visitors. It is a beautiful place to spend the day with family, go on a natural adventure!
The cost of the day trip is $10 and includes round-trip transportation (by bus and ferry!). Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, and bring your own lunch and water.
Seats are limited for this day trip. Please sign up in advance in Building 255, Main Reception (second floor) or at the Activity Sign-Up Desk (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 - 1 PM, Building 255 International Commons, First Floor).
